So the heavenly meal plan, the holy grail of health! You know need it, you know it can work and you want it done for you. So you decide you need one, jump online and start looking.  You find a coach, find a plan and pay… £47, £57, £97, whatever.


The coach gets started… (and goes through his process):

  • Googles; “meal plan” or finds an old one.
  • Copies and pastes.
  • Sends your way.

You download and read it, see some things that might work, a bunch of foods you don’t like, a bunch of recipes you’ll never make and a host of meal that will take far too long!

Does it work… NOPE! 

Also, you could have done it all for free, yourself.


How do I know this? Because, fellas, 😠 face , I’ve done it! Guilty! And so I know it doesn’t work.


Who does this work for? Those who can literally follow instruction to the letter T. Those who can commit themselves to follow every grain, carrot slice or ounce of protein, because they’re obsessed. It works for them. But those people are few and far between.


So for most of us, this does not work. We hate being told what to do and especially what to do when it comes to food. Why? Food is more than fuel, it’s our family time, it’s for comfort, it’s for celebration, religion and it is very personal. It’s our own individual story.

So. Simon, enough already, what will work?

 


Me, as a coach, having worked with guys online and 1:1 for a number of years, I know what works best. It is putting in some energy and taking the time to create a meal plan that is tailored to you.


That’s right, YOU create a plan that suits you.

 


ACTION STEPS 👇🏻

 

So how do we do this? For the next 14, 21, 28 days you need to track your food. Yes, get a food diary, scrap of paper, an app on the phone, whatever works for you and track all your meals. ALL your meals!

By doing this you are literally creating a meal plan that is part of your life, your family’s life and your lifestyle.

Once you have your list, circle and rate each meal for the week. A score of 10 for being your healthiest, for adhering to the calories you need, for being easy to make, for being cost effective etc.

Once the 14, 21, 28 days is up, take those top scoring meals and create your weekly meal plan.


I know, it’s that fucking simple!

 


If you constantly do this, every 3 or 4 months, you don’t get bored and have a better chance of sticking to it.

Also, during this process, you will notice that there are a few things you should not be consuming, It’s an eye opener fellas! I can sense some of you are scared. Just do it! Just get it done. It’s bloody life changing.


So skip paying that coach to Google a meal plan for you and create one that fits your needs and most importantly, that allows you to still be able to share these meals with your friends and family.
